Etc.
There is so much one could put into a portfolio like this. For many years now I have worked in media theory, research and development as a self-termed technomadologist. Technomadology is the cross-disciplinary study of contemporary technology-dependent "nomadic" human culture, the internet, media theory, and the creative process of generating art and literature as critical discourse toward a greater understanding of the prevailing social, economic, and political conditions. The work began in Chicago, Illinois in 1995 and is centered around the study and understanding of the role of media -- particularly the internet and (the) image -- across human history, present, and future. Related fields are political philosophy, media studies, critical & cultural theory, history, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and media ecology. It it my personal philosophy that media effect us in unprecidented ways, and that it is to our benefit to understand as much of these relationships as completely as possible. We create theories, test them in research, and apply them in development in order to educate ourselves with and about the technologies we use daily, and from an increasingly early age.
The work that I have been doing functions at many levels. Over the past 15 years I have been involved in professional partnerships across the United States, Europe, and Australia working with a wide range of leading companies, as well as with academic, artistic, and philanthropical projects in collaboration with colleges, universities, galleries, and public welfare groups. My main site is a work in progress that hopes to eventually document the entirety of these relationships and more. It functions as an archive, an aggregator, and a dynamic epublication.
Since early 2009, I have been working in web communication research and development for The Pennsylvania State University, and I have been on faculty in Web Design & Interactive Media at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. My doctoral study is with the University of Denver Joint Ph.D. in Theology, Philosophy, and Cultural Theory, and the European Graduate School in Media Philosophy.
